How do I set up Peak and Off Peak hours for bookings?


Answer

A bookable resources’ opening hours may sometimes need to reflect differing costs rates based on the period of time they have been hired. In this scenario, Operating Rates are utilised to automatically assign this variation in fees and charges. This configuration is not visible on the general diary view, however, will surface when a customer starts the bookings workflows and views the Charges tile behind a Bookings Overview. 

Operating Rates

An Operating Rate dictates certain timeframes (between 0:00 and 11:59) that prices or entry rules may vary for a customer. For example, a common Operating Rate configured allows a business to grant or deny access and rate changes based on Peak and Off-Peak times.

To create a new Operating Rate:


      1. Launch DATA MANAGEMENT. 
      2. Search and select Operating Rates.      
      3. Click New.  
      4. Add a Name – e.g. Off Peak.
      5. Click SAVE.



Operating Rates in Items


Operating Rates can also be used to create a variable rate behind an Item. In a similar concept, if a business varies the price of hiring the bookable facilities based on Peak or Off-Peak hours, this can automatically be applied via the item.

To add this automation:

     1. Launch DATA MANAGEMENT.
     2. Search and select Items.
     3. Find the applicable Item and click Edit.
     4. In the Price Variations table, click ADD.
     5. Add the Amount and applicable Operating Rate.


      6. Click OK.      
      7. Click SAVE
