How do I merge duplicated contacts?


Answer

Duplicate contacts can be merged when:
1. Adding a new contact or
2. Retrospectively.


Merge When Adding a New Contact

During the process of setting up a new contact, Envibe recognises potential duplicate records base on several contact fields.
When a duplicate is identified, two options are presented:
1. Merge the existing values if the values are duplicates
2. Ignore Duplicate and proceed with creating a new contact if they are unique values


Retrospective Merging Duplicate Contacts

If a case has arisen where duplicate values were ignored and a contact has been created multiple times, users with access to the DATA MANAGEMENT module can merge existing contacts if duplicate records have been made. 

To complete a retrospective merge:

  1. 1. Launch DATA MANAGEMENT.

  1. 2. Search for and click CONTACTS.

  1. 3. Search for the applicable contact record.

  2. 4. Click the Merge icon.




  2. 5. Click the duplicate record to merge with.
