How do I create a new Stock Type/Item?


Answer

The INVENTORY module houses all stock-related information. As such, all stock items are created within the INVENTORY module.

To add a new Stock Item:

1. Launch INVENTORY.

2. Click NEW STOCK TYPE.

3. Click NEW.

4. Enter an appropriate name for the Stock type, e.g. Gatorade.

5. Enter a value for the Barcode, if applicable.

6. Enter a value for the Stocking cost e.g. $1.00.

7. Select the relevant Stocking tax.

8. Select the relevant Stock Location.

9. Select the Supplier.

Note: if the supplier does not already exist, they will need to be created. Refer to Workshop 2 Manual – Contacts, Memberships & Passes.

10. Add the Supplier Code if applicable.

11. Select the applicable Stock Category.

12. Add any applicable Stock Variants, e.g. Colour, Size, Flavour.

13. Click FOR SALE if the item is available, or NOT FOR SALE if the item is no longer available.

14. Add the current default price, e.g. $4.00.

15. Select the applicable Tax.

16.Select the applicable Disbursement Type, e.g. Department or Department Assignment (multi-site).


  3. 17. Search and select the Applicable sales level, e.g. Staff Discount 10%

  4. Note: When adding multiple stock types at once, click Copy from Existing, which will automatically infill from existing stock types.
